Asturias was the guest region at the Tourism and Gastronomy Event in Segovia. Whereisasturias was there together with some of the best food producers in Asturias: Fabas Finca La Caxina, Vallina Meats, Chosco from Tineo, Del Rosal Butcher, Palper Desserts, Natural Cider Viuda de Angelon, Cider El Gaitero One -Third, Cheeses from the Way of Saint James (Rey Silo Cheese, Cabrales El Teyedu, Gamoneu D’Onao, Casin El Viejo Mundo). During the conferences the producers had the oportunity to present their products and the Brotherhood of the Astur Celtic Pig talked about this local breed of pig.
There were also speeches about Sports and Tourism where D. José Antonio Modino, President of the Internacional Descent of the River Sella has presented this important sport event that take place in Asturias in august and Valerie Jeanpetit has talked about the Asturian Routes of the Way of Saint James. The last day D. José María Osorno, Nava Councillor for Tourism participated in a forum about Tourism and Proximity.

At the presentation of the First Gastronomy Event for Rare Local Asturian Breeds of Livestock. The 6 Associations are doing a wonderful job protecting this important breeds from extintion.
At the Awards of the “Brotherhood of the Siceratores of Asturias” in the area of Nava.
Last july at the Cider Festival in Nava and during the Competition of the best Cider in Asturias, 41 of the best cider houses poured 2 bottles of their cider into a special barrel which was preserved at the wonderful Cider Museum of Nava. According to tradition they proceed to bottle and cork the cider on the 19th of March which will be then auctioned during the year. The first auction was awarded to the cider house Roza Cider.
The awards were given to:
- Brother of Merit: Wilkin Aquiles, the best “escanciador” (cider decaunter) in Asturias
- Brother of Communication: The Cider Magazine
- Brother Embassador: Juan Granados. He went to the South Pole riding more than 1200 Km. in his bike alone and without help. There at minus 30 degrees he was taking photos pouring cider.
- Brother of Honour: Painter and sculptor Mr.Favila
Giving the Awards: Ceferino Cimadevilla, Summellier and President of the DO Cider of Asturias. Emilio Ballesteros, Major of Nava and Roberto Llamedo President of the Brotherhood of the Siceratores.
